A refined sweet-savory glaze made with Ayuko mirin and teriyaki sauce transforms ordinary salmon into a distinctive Japanese-flavored dish.
Ingredients (2 servings):
- 2 salmon fillets (approx 150 g each)
- 2 tbsp Ayuko mirin
- 2 tbsp Ayuko teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp miso paste (optional for extra umami, Coming Soon)
- 1 tsp sugar
- Sesame seeds and chopped spring onion, for garnish
Instructions:
- Whisk together mirin, teriyaki sauce, miso paste, and sugar into a smooth glaze.
- Place the salmon fillets in a dish and coat generously with the glaze; marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill pan or oven to 200 °C.
- Grill or bake the salmon 8–10 minutes, until cooked and glaze slightly caramelized.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onion before serving.
- Serve with steamed rice or a fresh salad for a well-balanced meal.
