A refined sweet-savory glaze made with Ayuko mirin and teriyaki sauce transforms ordinary salmon into a distinctive Japanese-flavored dish.

Ingredients (2 servings):

  • 2 salmon fillets (approx 150 g each)
  • 2 tbsp Ayuko mirin
  • 2 tbsp Ayuko teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp miso paste (optional for extra umami, Coming Soon)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Sesame seeds and chopped spring onion, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together mirin, teriyaki sauce, miso paste, and sugar into a smooth glaze.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a dish and coat generously with the glaze; marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill pan or oven to 200 °C.
  4. Grill or bake the salmon 8–10 minutes, until cooked and glaze slightly caramelized.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onion before serving.
  6. Serve with steamed rice or a fresh salad for a well-balanced meal.
