Yakisoba is a popular Japanese street-food dish bursting with flavors from its sweetsour, savory sauce. This version, made with Ayuko dried ramen noodles and yakisoba sauce, is easy to prepare and perfect as a quick meal.

Ingredients (2 servings):

  • 1 pack Ayuko dried ramen noodles (180 g)
  • 150 ml Ayuko yakisoba sauce
  • 150 g chicken fillet or pork strips
  • ½ small cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • ½ onion, halved and sliced
  • ½ red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the dried ramen noodles per the package until just al dente. Drain, rinse under cold water to prevent sticking, and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken or pork and cook until golden and done, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Add the onion, cabbage, carrot, and pepper to the pan, stir- and fry 4–5 minutes until the veggies are crisp-tender.
  4. Add the noodles and pour in the Ayuko yakisoba sauce. Stir well to coat and cook another 2–3 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately—optionally topped with Japanese mayo or chili for extra kick.
